A loud flashing drone might cease bats crashing into wind generators

A drone geared up with lights and audio system can deter bats from wind farms to guard them from doubtlessly lethal turbine blades

A loud glashing drone might preserve bats away from wind generators, which kill hundreds of thousands of the flying mammals every year.

“When people first started to notice that animals were getting hit by wind turbines, the focus was really on birds,” says Yuval Werber on the College of Haifa in Israel. “It took a few years longer to understand that bats were getting hit, and during those few years a lot of wind farms were being built.”
