Butterflies first fluttered onto the scene in North America about 100 million years in the past, in keeping with a genetic evaluation. The findings have been used to generate an in depth butterfly household tree, giving scientists new insights into butterflies’ evolutionary origins and the way they unfold the world over.

“The family relationships and the history of butterflies, surprisingly, is not very well known,” says Akito Kawahara on the College of Florida.
